Dear readers, the latest issue of Detektor revue has now been printed and, if it has not yet reached your homes, it is available at the usual outlets. As usual, we’re bringing you a little taster of the magazine’s content. We kick off this issue with our regular ‘Artefact of the Month’ feature, where you can look forward to a real treat for treasure hunters. I probably don’t need to introduce Jitka Vytinová to anyone in the treasure-hunting community – this lady simply knows how to hunt. Well, Jitka has scored another hit, much to the delight of the archaeologists. What follows is a look back at the recent successful Protivanov 2015 treasure hunters’ meet-up, so many of you may recognise yourselves in the photos (and for those who don’t, perhaps you’ll be in them next year). Our colleague James86 has prepared an interesting report for us about his find in the woods; the rather telling title ‘Wehrmacht depot’ may give a further clue.

We consider the next article (‘A Wheelchair for Vláďa’) to be very important, as it concerns a colleague who, despite being in a wheelchair, continues to pursue metal detecting. In our view, Vláďa is a real person and living proof of unbreakable will; we therefore ask you to read this, and for those of you who are able, please consider providing at least a small financial contribution to help Vláďa get a new wheelchair better suited to off-road terrain.

Following our regular ‘Advice Corner’ section, numismatists will find plenty to enjoy in the fifth instalment of Martin Furugláš’s series, ‘Coinage in Bohemia’. In the previous issue of the magazine, you had the opportunity to learn about a hoard from the Sudetenland, which included a pocket watch. You can find out in this issue how an experienced watchmaker dealt with the ‘onions’ he found. If you’re one of those who love unearthing the history of small objects that ‘mainstream’ history has overlooked, you’re sure to enjoy the article The Hungry Ring. If, upon seeing the article below titled ‘Unfortunate Love’, you expect us to have switched to romantic fiction, you’ll be disappointed; but if you’re looking forward to a nice story about ‘one’ find, you’ve got something to look forward to.

The magazine also features a regular survey in which treasure hunters answered questions about how they cope with troublesome insects whilst out in the field. You can read about a successful find and the even more successful restoration of a historic motorbike in the article by our colleague tamasek1; afterwards, our colleague Wood, in his article ‘A Sketch of Ruin’, reminds us of the unfortunate fate of an old manor house. And to round things off, we’ve prepared a short story for you by the writer and treasure hunter Václav Moravec, aptly titled Na mrcasu.
