Dear readers, the long-awaited sixth issue of Detektor revue will be with you shortly, so, as is our tradition, we are providing a brief preview. In the introduction, you can enjoy a treasure-hunting manifesto by our colleague Tomáš Ryšavý, which he has aptly titled ‘My Treasure’. Our colleague Dzagrnot, meanwhile, proves once again that searching sometimes really does mean finding, in his article ‘The Forest in the Sudetenland’. It is not only war enthusiasts who will certainly appreciate this superbly and interestingly written and photographed report by Lt. René Pech, who, as a member of the Czech Police diving team, took part in the recovery of ammunition from the River Sava in Bosnia. Our colleague LKW Bronson, meanwhile, has provided a fascinating account of his trip to Altaussee, a place renowned as a hiding place for art treasures looted by the Nazis. My colleague Zdeněk Brož has delved into his family history and describes the fates of his grandfather and his grandfather’s brother amidst the turmoil of the First World War; moreover, he set off with his camera to follow these leads all the way to the Italian Dolomites. The fact that luck sometimes runs out and can strike any one of us is demonstrated by our colleague Honza H. in his article ‘The Longed-for Gold Coin’. You can read about how the search was conducted in Poland in a comprehensive report, followed, as always, by an excellent researcher in the field of artillery history, Jan Škarka, who this time focused on the 14 cm vz. 18 heavy mortar. Acci, a collector of unique historical photographs, has prepared for you this time the story of the notorious rogue Václav Babinský – and, naturally, once again featuring interesting treasures from his collection. In his article ‘Silver Fever’, my colleague Knecht vividly described his experience as a treasure hunter, including the pitfalls that may lie in wait for treasure hunters. But that’s not all, because in addition to numismatics and the competition announcement, you’ll also find a surprise in the magazine in the form of a generous offer to subscribe to a remarkable book.

Adam Krejčík, Editor-in-Chief, and Miroslav UC Kratochvíl, Publisher, wish you a peaceful and inspiring read.
