Dear readers, the fourth issue of Detektor revue has left the printers and is currently on its way to your letterboxes. As usual, we’re providing you with some basic information about the contents of this issue. In the magazine, for example, you can read about the triple stroke of luck enjoyed by fellow treasure hunter Stahad, followed by an article on a hoard of Celtic coins discovered by a Swiss metal-detectorist working for a museum. You can then feast your eyes on a pit full of badges, which our colleague Beltram found beneath his coil. Luck also smiled on our colleague Pumpář 691, who describes the circumstances of his numismatic find. Our editorial contributor spent over a year and a half testing the Teknetics G2 metal detector and has, of course, shared his findings with you. The 8 cm mortar, model 36 – this is a topic which Jan Škarka, a researcher specialising in military technology, has covered with his characteristic thoroughness. The next article discusses the mysterious crates inherited by the National Museum in Prague. Our colleague Fenek has once again demonstrated in his article the age-old truth that even a relatively ordinary find can conceal extraordinary information. Our colleague Wood has prepared all the necessary information for you this time – everything every treasure hunter should know about bird rings. What follows is an account of a treasure-hunting expedition by our colleague Warcal, which ended with a fine find of an ancient bronze artefact. In issue four, you will also find a treasure-hunters’ survey, a description of the editorial team’s expedition to the Vysočina region, and a short study by Jakub Novák on the legendary vz. 32 helmet.
