Dear readers, the unbelievable has become reality and the latest – that is, the sixth – issue of Detektor revue 2011 is now in your letterboxes, or will be there very soon. We apologise for the delay! For those of you who collect the magazine from familiar distribution points, here’s a little taster. We began the sixth instalment with the story of a unique reliquary of St. Maura, here is an article by a fellow treasure hunter who specialises in the restoration of American cast-iron stoves. Another topic is the mystery of the Jordán pond, which is being drained for the first time since it was created. Our colleague Dutch will tell us about his success in finding military artefacts, and our colleague Jipin will show us how to restore LW gravity knives. Antonín Gibiš set out to search for First World War relics, and Josef Procházka takes us on the trail of a significant treasure. Our colleague Acci has contributed a summary article on his successful collecting and research activities. Our colleague Lukas87 has shared with us a fine find of rare war medals, and whilst we’re on the subject of war, let’s also look at the auction of a rare writing set, known as the ‘Munich set’. Our colleague Warcal has surprised us with his distinctive and very likeable approach to metal detecting – we’re sure you’ll appreciate his approach too. The sixth issue of the magazine also features a piece by researcher Jan Škarka, who this time turns his attention to an 8.35 cm anti-aircraft gun, an original treasure-hunting short story by Václav Moravec, an advice column, and an intriguing investigation by Richard Vetchý, prompted by the discovery of a small advertising token.
As a bonus, we’re including a video accompanying the article by our colleague Dutch, which you can find here.
