Historical introduction: prices, events and dates refer to the original publication.

Dear readers,

The fifth issue of Detektor revue has been printed with a delay and will reach you in the coming days. You can look forward to many articles on treasure hunting, as well as interesting facts from the worlds of history and numismatics. You can join our colleague Náchoďák on his successful expedition through abandoned villages, or read about an interesting investigation into the fates of the Vlasovites in May 1945 by our colleague Jan Ciglbauer. Treasure hunter Beax has struck lucky again, but you can read all about it in his article. The meticulous researcher Jan Škarka has prepared a piece for you on a 9 cm anti-aircraft gun, whilst our colleague Lišák will convince you that he is not only a passionate restorer of damaged artefacts, but that he can also write an ironically tinged fairy tale. In the fifth issue of the magazine, we also bid farewell to Jan Kux’s retrospective report on the Czechoslovak Legions in Russia, but a new series begins here, this time by our colleague Moltke, focusing on finds of artillery artefacts from the War of 1866. The brilliant Acci delights us once again with a fine article on the Cossacks, as always featuring plenty of unique period photographs. Our colleague Fenek will take you to a site that has yielded some satisfying finds. Josef Procházka will introduce us to the history of yet another treasure from the turbulent Balkans, and Václav Moravec will contribute a lovely story about treasure hunting. The magazine also features an advice column and practical instructions on how to modify a spade.
