Historical introduction: prices, events and dates refer to the original publication.
The third issue of this year’s volume has been printed and is on its way to subscribers. I would like to apologise for the delay in publication. A new feature is the higher-quality paper, which makes the photographs stand out much better. As usual, we’re offering a little taster of the contents for those of you who collect your copy of the magazine from your local distribution points. The third issue opens with a short report on a spring night-time search, followed by a historical study by Jan Kux on the internment camp at Svatobořice. UC and Paul1 will once again share their experiences from a successful treasure-hunting expedition to Latvia. ‘In Search of the Treasures of the Balkans’ – this is the next instalment of the popular series by J. Procházky, who this time discusses the legendary Mark’s treasure. ‘Revived Phaleristics’, a series by Roman Štér and Jiří Micka, this time brings valuable information about the Czechoslovak War Cross from 1939. Our colleague Adič will share his discovery in the Sudetenland with you; afterwards, you can read and enjoy a few retrospective gems from the period ‘when things were still falling’ by our colleague Lišák. The 4.7 cm anti-tank gun, model 38 – that is the title of Jan Škarka’s detailed study on the history of artillery. Acci’s archive of historical photographs has not disappointed once again, and as always, it is accompanied by an interesting accompanying text. And the topic? Let yourself be surprised. Perhaps the title will give you a clue: Baloun’s Pâté. You can then immerse yourself for the third time in historian Jan Kux’s retrospective report on his journey in the footsteps of our legionnaires in Russia. Václav Moravec’s short story in this issue bears the apt title Treasure. There’s also an Advice Corner and Curiosities, and so on and so forth.
