Dear readers,
The fifth issue of DR magazine has been printed and is on its way to your treasure-hunting homes and letterboxes. As usual, here is a small taster of the contents. In Issue 5, for example, you can read about the search for the fate of the wearer of a found SS donation ring, or about the find of a lifetime by our colleague Tadeus, who is living proof that initial bad luck can turn into an incredible find. This is followed by Acci’s highly interesting and readable study on a lesser-known component of the Austro-Hungarian Army, the so-called As always, the article on the Bosnians is supplemented with unique photographs. The second instalment of our newly launched ‘Střípky’ column will bring us interesting news from the Czech scene as well as from the wider world of archaeology and treasure hunting. For old-timers and those who love rummaging through Sudeten rubbish tips alike, we have put together a photo report from the museum of bathrooms, toilets and baths opened in Germany by Hansgrohe. Our colleague Paul 1 will once again be sharing his experiences from an interesting night-time event with you. Antonín Gibiš set out to follow in the footsteps of soldiers in the Dolomites, who certainly did not have it easy. Our colleague Nixe brings us a report on two enjoyable events, specifically meetings of treasure-hunting clubs. Those who spend Christmas in front of the telly and have had enough of the rather daft, lisping little devils produced by Z. Those who are keen can treat themselves to some interesting programmes on Z1 television, for which we provide brief summaries. Another of the well-researched studies by the researcher J. ‘Škarky’, this time featuring a 24 cm vz. 16 heavy cannon, will undoubtedly – as always – surprise you with its precision and comprehensiveness. Our colleague Ronie shared with us his experience of an unpleasant encounter between a treasure hunter and representatives of the canine kingdom, as well as an even more unpleasant dog owner. And as a little treat to round things off, we present a ghostly, war-themed, treasure-hunting short story penned by J. Moravce, without whom we can scarcely imagine our magazine anymore.
We had originally intended to publish a combined issue 5/6 at the end of the year, but ultimately decided against it due to potential distribution problems. But don’t despair, as issue 6/2010 is currently going to press. We have kept our promise, and all six issues will be with you by the end of the year! Thank you for your patience; from the new year onwards, the magazine will be published according to schedule.
