Historical introduction: prices, events and dates refer to the original publication.
Last week, the printers informed us that the first issue of this year’s Detektor revue magazine had been printed, and distribution is now underway. This means that by now the magazine should already be in your letterboxes.
Here’s a little taster for non-subscribers. We opened this issue with an article by our colleague Wood about his search for a crashed aeroplane. Lišák has prepared a restoration of an SA belt buckle for you in his restoration corner. UC documented the major treasure-hunting expedition to Latvia in diary form, and you can see for yourselves that his camera was certainly not idle either. Antonín Gibiš has presented the history of the battles between Prussia and Austria in a clear, chronological manner, particularly as regards our territory. The researcher specialising in the history of artillery technology probably needs no introduction – this time he has turned his attention to the 8 cm light gun, Model 30. Our colleague Acci always surprises us with something interesting; this time with the article ‘Rosamunda was the first, or the beginnings of treasure hunters in Bohemia’. This is followed by a short story by Václav Moravec with the telling title: ‘Who Do You Think Wore You Around Their Neck?’, and afterwards you can enjoy both a find and a competition entry by Zdeněk Kovařík. And whilst we’re on the subject of the competition, you’ll also find out the results of the vote on the XP Gmaxx detector and other prizes. UC has put together a look back at the successful treasure hunters’ meet-up in Sloup; afterwards, you can find out about beer bottle caps from the Protectorate era. The next instalment of ‘Sacred Objects B’. Přibila discusses relics relating to Kynžvart, Kostomlaty, Králův Dvůr, Krupka, Kutná Hora, Libáň, Libice nad Cidlinou and Litoměřice. In his article ‘The Emperor from the Field’, our colleague Reifferscheidt describes the discovery of a Roman denarius and the fate of the emperor whose head adorned the coin.
