Historical introduction: prices, events and dates refer to the original publication.

The latest issue of the second volume of Detektor revue left the printers a week before Christmas, so all subscribers should already have received it. Those of you who buy the magazine from the usual outlets can look forward to regular features, established authors and contributions from newcomers. Be sure not to miss the next instalment of the article by difrologist D. P. Minára’s piece on the fate of the vz. 33 light tank and its involvement in the fighting against the Freikorps, Dutman’s article on the search, Lišák’s restoration column, ‘Christmas in the Trenches’ by Acci, and a numismatic contribution by A. Lojdy, a look back at the archaeological conference in Vysoké Mýto, the discovery of another SS donation ring, an interesting paper by Pavel Nejedlý on the end of the war in Jihlava, supplemented by unique photographic documentation, and much more.

Otherwise, the content of the sixth issue is dominated by the year-long writers’ competition on metal detectors, which is just waiting for its winner. Details of the vote, including a list of competition entries and the voting slip, can be found inside the magazine on page 8. You can vote until the end of January 2009.

I hope you enjoy reading this
