Historical introduction: prices, events and dates refer to the original publication.

The first issue of the long-awaited magazine Detektor revue was published on Friday 7 September; it has 56 pages and costs 49 Kč. An annual subscription costs 270 Kč. In this issue, amongst other things, you will read about the discovery of German ID tags and a donation ring for members of the SS, and learn about the twists and turns surrounding Singo’s find of silver coins and Sven’s unique discovery of a bronze hoard. You’ll also join us on a visit to the AIR Café museum in Brno, where you’ll learn interesting details about the explosion of an ammunition train in Luleč, Moravia. We have also prepared several series for you: Jezer’s series on seals, Antonín Gibiš’s series on ammunition, and Bedřich Přibil’s series on sacred objects. In the article on metal detectors, we’ll introduce you to the basic types of detectors and advise you on what to ask sellers before buying a new detector and, most importantly, what to look out for when making your choice. This is a general analysis of this topic without reference to specific models or brands. UC will also share their experiences with the XP G-Maxx 2 metal detector with you (Note for the sceptics: don’t worry, this isn’t a sales pitch; we intend to cover other brands as well!) We haven’t forgotten about our original short story either – and there’s a sequel coming too. In the magazine, you’ll also find a quiz with an interesting prize and an announcement of the competition for the aforementioned XP G-Maxx 2 metal detector.

Your discovery. A new audience.
